Science in Yorùbá.
By kids.
The Abúlé STEAM Journal is Nigeria’s student STEAM journal. Every story is translated, checked and voiced by children, and every school gets its own news page and robotics practical.
Four things in every issue.
Two issues a month. Each one is made by students, for students, and it is free to read.
News in Yorùbá
Two science stories for every school, translated by kids.
The Practical
A how-to project with code to copy, in an online lab.
Listen
Students read the stories aloud, in their own voices.
Research papers
Student papers every quarter, with a permanent DOI.
How a story is made.
Five steps, and kids lead every one of them.
Hear it from the kids.
Every story comes with a voice. Press play and hear science in Yorùbá, read by students.
Real papers. Written by students.
Every quarter, students publish a short research paper about what they built. It has a bilingual abstract, tables, figures and references, just like a professional paper.
Every issue, in one place.
Never miss an issue.
Subscribe to read each new issue as soon as it is published, and watch the kids on video.
Kids first. Always.
Abúlé STEAM is made by children, so protecting them comes before everything else. These are our promises, in plain words.
Consent first
Nothing about a child is published unless a parent or guardian has signed their permission. That covers their name, work, photo and voice.
Adults run the pages
Videos go on the school’s own TikTok and YouTube pages, run by an adult at the school. We recommend switching comments off.
No private details
We never publish a child’s home address, phone number or other private details.
Not collected here
This website never asks for a child’s name, photo or voice. Our application form is only for school staff.
Kind feedback only
Schools review each other’s work with two stars and a wish. No scores, no rankings, no shaming.
Easy to say stop
A parent or guardian can ask us to remove their child’s name, work or voice at any time. Just email us.
See how consent works
A parent or guardian decides, one thing at a time. Switch things on and watch what the world could see.
This is a demo. Nothing you switch here is saved or sent.
Before you publish a video, tick all five.
A quick check that keeps every child safe. Tick each box when it is true.
Tick what is true
All five need a tick before a video goes online.
Your details, your rules.
This is our privacy notice, in plain words. It explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do.
Last updated: October 2026Who are we?
Abúlé STEAM is a programme of Pat Willis Vision Foundation and Rollascriptings Company. We are the people responsible for the details described here.

What do we collect?
When a school applies, we collect:
- the school’s name, area and level
- the names of the principal, the coordinating teacher and the Yorùbá teacher
- a work email address and phone number
- whether the school has laptops and internet, and the best times to onboard the team
If you email or message us, we keep your message so we can reply.
We do not ask for any child’s details on this website.
We may use basic, anonymous visit counts to see which pages are useful. We do not use them to identify or follow individual people.
Why do we use your details?
To reply to you, onboard your school, and run the programme: sending lessons, organising partner reviews and publishing issues.
We do not sell your details and we do not use them for advertising.
What about children’s information?
Children’s details are collected only on the signed Partnership & Participant Form, with a parent or guardian’s consent. They are never collected through this website.
We use them only for the programme, for example to credit a child’s work or to issue a certificate, and only in the ways the parent or guardian agreed to.
Nigeria’s Data Protection Act 2023 says a parent or guardian must consent for a child’s personal data. Our process is built around that rule.
Who can see your details?
Only the members of our team and mentors who need them to run the programme.
Work that is published, such as a news page, a research paper, a video or a recording, is public once it is published, and only with consent.
Some services we use to send and store messages, such as email or a form provider, handle your details for us only to deliver that service. Some of them may store data outside Nigeria.
How long do we keep it?
Only as long as we need it for the programme and for our records. If you want something removed sooner, just ask.
What are your rights?
You can ask us to:
- show you the details we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your details, or stop using them
Parents and guardians can do the same for their child, and can withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@abulesteam.com.
If you are not happy with how we handle your details, you can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
Will this notice change?
If it does, we will change the date at the top of this section so you can see when it was last updated.
This notice describes our practice in plain language. It is not a substitute for legal advice.
Ask us anything about keeping kids safe.
We would rather you ask than wonder. Write to us and we will answer in plain words.
